Our Story

2007 — Pell Artifex

We began in a garage workshop, bridging artisanal techniques with design vision through one‑of‑a‑kind projects for NYC designers.

2011 — Long Island City Studio

Lamptouch officially opened in Long Island City, expanding bespoke fabrication and coordination with architects and interiors teams.

2015 — Custom Lampshades

We introduced made‑to‑order shades with premium fabrics and local frames—tailored to complement proportion and light quality.

2024 — Sunnyside Workshop

We moved to a larger studio in Sunnyside, unifying finishing, plaster, and precision wiring with tighter partner coordination.

Our Approach

We integrate safety and compliance considerations from the very beginning: conductor gauges, insulation class, clearances, strain relief, and thermal management. We provide UL listing only on incandescent sockets, while ensuring professional wiring and testing across all other lamp holder types.

Yes—Lamptouch is trade‑only. If you’re a homeowner, we’re happy to coordinate through your designer or architect.

Can you help with UL listing?

Yes. We design to UL requirements and coordinate listing where needed. You’ll receive labeling and documentation.

Do you handle international voltages?

We can engineer for 220–240V and specify compatible lamp holders, drivers, and components as required.

Lead times?

Restorations typically 2–4 weeks; bespoke fabrication varies 6–12+ weeks depending on complexity and finishes.
